Y would be the output value after inputting an X value and solving the necessary equation.

On the pictured graph, the numbers along the bottom are the X values and the numbers along the side are the Y values.

Looking at where the yellow dots are located on the X axis, there ia a dot at 0, 7, 14, 21, 28 and 35.

Now look at the corresponding Y values for each of those dots, they are at 0, 42, 84, 126, 168 and 210.

To find the proportionality of the graph using the equation y =kx, we can fill in the Y and X values and solve for k.

using x = 7 and Y = 42, the equation becomes 42 =k(7).
 To solve for k divide both sides by 7: k = 42/7 = 6
When you replace the x and Y with the other numbers on the graph k is also equal to 6, so the correct equation would be B. y = 6x

The cost of a company picnic varies directly as the number of employees attending the picnic. If a company picnic costs $487.50
Drupady [299]

The company picnic cost $ 1300 for 80 employees

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that cost of a company picnic varies directly as the number of employees attending the picnic

Let "c" be the company picnic cost

Let "n" be the number of employees attending the picnic

Therefore,

cost \propto \text{ number of employees attending picnic }

c \propto n\\\\c = kn

Where "k" is the constant of proportionality

c = kn ---------- eqn 1

<em><u>Given that company picnic costs $487.50 for 30 employees</u></em>

Therefore substitute c = 487.50 and n = 30

487.50 = k(30)\\\\k = \frac{487.50}{30} = 16.25

<em><u>How much does a company picnic cost for 80 employees?</u></em>

Substitute n = 80 and k = 16.25 in eqn 1

c = 16.25(80) = 1300

Thus $ 1300 is the cost for 80 employees

4. You sketch a right triangle that has a
stich3 [128]

Answer:

√95 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve, you need to use the pythagorean theorem, or a^2 + b^2 = c^2

The hypotenuse is the c and let one leg be b. You can write:

a^2 + 7^2 = 12^2

a^2 + 49 = 144

Now, you need to solve for a:

a^2 = 144 - 49

a^2 = 95

a = √95 cm, or about 9.75cm
