Chiang Kai Shek brought together all his supporters and followers, and drove the chinese warlords out of power, which was then , suppressing the people, and the people wanted to leave their rule.

He only started losing power because of economic unstability and the losing of territory to Japan. He also became unpopular when his officers were found accepting bribes
