inn [45]

The term "pneumocephalus" refers to the condition in which air is present in the cranial cavity.

What happens in pneumocephalus?

  • Increased intracranial pressure causes tension pneumocephalus, a neurosurgical emergency that can cause headaches, seizures, loss of consciousness, and even death.
  • Clinically separating the two entities is difficult but essential.
  • Tension pneumocephalus following skull base surgery was found to be a rare phenomenon with just eleven cases described, according to a survey of the literature on PubMed/MEDLINE.
  • After treatment, the majority of patients experienced full symptom relief.
  • Following skull base surgery, tension pneumocephalus is a potential complication that clinicians should be aware of.
  • An understanding of imaging characteristics and a high level of suspicion are necessary for accurate diagnosis. Rapid management is essential to avoid potentially disastrous effects.

Compare and contrast the function and structure of a compound light micrscope and electron micscrope
galben [10]
The major difference between a light microscope and a electron microscope would be that with the light microscope, a beam of light is used to focus the image. In an electron microscope, a beam of electrons is used to focus the image. Other notable differences would be with the light microscope, your specimens must be very thin; thin enough for light to pass through them. With the EM, you can place whole specimens that can generate 3D images. There is a much more complex specimen preparation process for the EM, where light microscope slide making is fairly simple in comparison. You can view live and wet specimens with a light microscope but you cannot with the EM because an EM requires specimens to be placed in a vacuum chamber. Lastly, the EM is very large and complex to operate, where the light microscope is somewhat portable. Hope this helps!

What will the overall charge of an atom be if it has more protons than electrons?
sineoko [7]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

A: Neutrally charged atoms have the same number of protons and electrons.

B: Negatively charged atoms have more electrons than protons. These are also called anions.

C: ironically charged is a molecule that has a charge so a cation or an anion. This option isn't correct becuase it's not specific enough for the question. An ion can be positively charged (cation) or negatively charged (anion).
