Thomas More was an English thinker, theologian, politician, humanist and writer, who was also a poet, translator, Lord Chancellor of Henry VIII, professor of law, civil business judge and lawyer. His most famous work is Utopía, where he seeks to relate the organization of an ideal society, based on a nation in the form of an island of the same name. In addition, Moro was an important detractor of the Protestant Reformation and, in particular, of Martin Luther and William Tyndale.

Niccolo Machiavelli was a diplomat, civil servant, political philosopher and Italian writer, considered father of modern Political Science. He was also a relevant figure of the Italian Renaissance. In 1513 he wrote his treatise on political doctrine entitled The Prince, posthumously published in Rome in 1531.
