Through hiding its literal meaning until the final lines, the poem manages to capture something of the excitement—and perhaps even the danger—of love. The speaker makes the difficult journey to meet this lover precisely because love is worth fighting for.
He is saying the sins of humanity will destroy the world. Fire is desire, and Frost sides with them, saying that he is guilty of letting his desires control him, while Ice is hatred, which he says he would rather see the world end by desire than he would hatred.

This could be disagreed with because not only are you getting there an hour early but you leaving an hour late, making it the same time difference in the end so it doesn’t really matter, many people could dislike it, there would be less daylight time once you got home.
