I did this one a while back.

I answered that precipitation has a high effect due to greatly effecting the fish and plants that lived there, and that the pollution would change the water quality and poison many things.

Data showed that the number of mariflowers slowly increased and  the number of noniflowers slowly decreased. The only difference mentioned between the two species is the  mariflower, can grow at a more acidic pH.

So environmental factors that have larger effect on pH will have higher impact on the two species. Increase in number of factories nearby will increase CO2, SO2 and other air pollutants. Increase in precipitation which means more rain will dissolve the pollutants in air and bring them to the soil; thereby changing the soil pH and the species' growth rate.

The other factors such as temperature, daylight and invasive species have less impact.
