This famous king of antiquity ruled the city of Babylon in Mesopotamia for more than 40 years. He was king from 1792 until his death in 1750 BC, which is one of the longest reigns in the history of the region. When he was in power, Babylon was a small town with no importance, but he succeeded to build a big empire. He was the king of the whole Mesopotamia.

They were written on stone slabs and placed in a square center of Babylon. So, everyone could see them.
