On April and May of 1992, there were different riots by the citizens that lived in Los Angeles, California that led to the death of around 63 people and many more being injured. This situation was caused as Rodney Glen King and African- American construction worker was beaten by four policemen while they arrested him for fleeing while driving, this incident was recorded by a witness and then the video was broadcasted in local news, which allowed everyone in the city to know this case of police brutality. After this, the policemen were charged with use of excessive force, but due to change of venue, most of them were acquitted of charges which caused the disapproval on the population and lead to the riots. Therefore, the reason why there was a riot in Los Angeles in 1992 was that a group of policemen were acquitted of charges after they beat an African American man.
