Why did The truce that was created in Congress by the Missouri Compromise began to break down?

History

It began to break down because it was only a temporary solution to the problem. The next time that slavery and new states came into question, the compromise became irrelevant because a new one had to be found to solve the issues with places like Texas and New Mexico, and California, and things like that.

Compare the Chinese and Indian approaches to the patriarchal family
Marysya12 [62]
It really depends on the time period, but if we're talking in general, China had Confucian views, while India had the caste system. Both were very patriarchal, but China's social system was more based on family values and India was more focused on jobs. China was way more strict ("women should stay in the house", foot binding, etc.) I hope this helps somewhat. :)

In what ways did hostility grow between the colonists and the King?
Assoli18 [71]

Answer:

The kind believed had the right to tax the colonists, many colonists felt they should not pay these taxes, because they wete passed in england by parliament and not by their own colonial government. They said the taxes violated their right as british citizens. Also by the 1770s many colonists were angry bc they did not have self-government. That meant they could not govern themselvesand make their own laws. Almost no colonists wanted to be independent of britain at the time bc britain provided protection, yet all of them valued their rights as british citizens and the idea of local self-rule.
