Persian Gulf War--this war was a coalition effort led by the US to get Iraq to back down from their invasion of Kuwait. The operation called Desert Storm last under 2 months resulting in Iraq leaving Kuwait but the issues remaining from the war would return in 2003.

Osama bin Laden--this man denounced western influence in the Middle East and wanted Islamic countries to return to Islamic Law. Bin Laden was responsible for the first and second attacks on the World Trade Center as well as all terrorist activity associated with Al-Qaeda.

He declares war on terrorism and troops are sent to Afghanistan to dismantle the Taliban and Al-Qaeda--the response from the US was immediate as Al-Qaeda took responsibility for the 9/11 attacks immediately. Bush sent troops to Afghanistan which is where Al-Qaeda was believed to be hiding out and being protected by the Afghani government.

Saddam Hussein is forced out of the government in Iraq and sentenced to death--this action was the result of the Iraqi War in 2003. This war was not linked to the war on terror but rather a follow up to issues left over from the Persian Gulf War. The 2003 invasion occurred because of intel stating Saddam Hussein was holding weapons of mass destruction.

SO Egypt.... Egypt started thousands and thousands of years before anyone, somewhere around 5000-3000 BC. One of the first major civilization but it came to a end when Rome took over Europe and half of the known world and after Rome fell in 476 AD Egypt was never mentioned in any history books... So the "New Kingdom" fell due to Romans and since they had no armies to defend themselves.

Hope this helps :)
