They also followed big herbivores animals, like mammoths, because these animals knew where the food was located and they avoided carnivores at all cost. If an early human was living in the interior of the continent (a place like Denver), he would eat plants, small or large animales. Thus,it'd be really hard for him to eat fish and shellfish because he would be far from the ocean and it would be really hard to move there and survive.
