What factors can lead to drought formation?

Biology

Below average rainfall in a region for several months.

Less precipitation for a short period of time usually do not result in drought. However, when there is no rain for a long time, there will be nothing to prove cooling, vapor and moisture that recharges the ground water.

Not enough rain to be absorbed into the ground before evaporating.

Soaking rain enable evaporation from moist soil. It can also initiate evapotranspiration by vegetation.

Cutting down trees and overuse of land.

Water vapor evaporating from trees trigger rain with the clouds that form over the forests. Less trees means less rain.

Hot dry air masses blown into a region by westerly winds.

The westerlies carry dry, warm, equatorial winds that further inhibit moisture formation.

Human activities that deplete the water table faster than it can be replaced.

Water demand is outbalanced with the supply. Humans consume more than what nature can provide. Also, excessive irrigation contributes to drought.

Two species of birds feed on mistletoe berries. The birds are active at different times of the day and do not come into contact
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. exploitation

Explanation:

Exploitation competition occurs when the interaction of two species is indirect when they complete for the same resource like food, place, etc. The use of resources by one individual species reduces the amount of resources for the other species leading to competition.

So over time the more fit species will out complete the less fit species. So here two species of bird feed on the same food but at different times and so they reduce resources for each other which is an example of exploitation competition.

The sum total of an organism's interaction with the biotic and abiotic resources of its environment is called its A) habitat. B)
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

E) ecological niche

Explanation:

Every species on the planet, be it a bacteria, animal, or a plant has its own ecological niche. Basically, the ecological niche is the position and role that an organism is occupying in the environment. Further, this means that it is a combination of all the activities of the organism, how it uses the biotic and abiotic factors in the environment it leaves, how it finds food and how it feeds, its shelter, reproduction, the manner in which it survives. All of that sums up the species and its role in the environment, thus its ecological niche. There are countless ecological niches, as there are millions of different species, all of which have their own way of living, feeding, reproducing, interactions with the biotic and abiotic factors, resulting in numerous unique ecological niches.

Animals that live on intertidal rocks often exhibit compressed or dorsally flattened bodies. this is an adadptation that protect
Serhud [2]

Answer:

d. wave shock

Explanation:

An adaptation can be defined as a phenotypic trait that makes an organism and/or species better suited to its environment, thereby this organism/species will have more chances to survive and reproduce in such conditions. Rock-dwelling aquatic animals have different ecological, morphological and behavioral adaptations to survive in this type of environment. In this regard, it is well-known that these organisms show dorsally flattened bodies, since it is one fundamental morphological adaptation which helps them to dissipate the force of the waves.
