7/2 = 63/g..7 red apples to 2 green apples = 63 red apples to g green apples
cross multiply
(7)(g) = (2)(63)
7g = 126
g = 126/7
g = 18

so they sold 63 red apples and 18 green apples...for a total of (63 + 18) = 81 apples sold

So if there are 63 red apples / 7 that equals 9 apples per part. That means that There are 7 parts of 9 red apples, which is true, then there are 2 parts of 9 green apples, which equals 18 green apples. 18 + 63 = 81 apples total.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, Gilberto's grandfather gives him $5 for his birthday and then$0.50 for each math he answers correctly on his math exam for the year.

Let , the number of math that he answers correctly on his his math exam for the year is x

Therefore he got = $(0.50× x) =$ 0.50x for doing correct math.

Therefore total amount of money that he got is = $(5+0.50x) [ x = number of correct math]

AnnyKZ [126]
There are several possible events that lead to the eighth mouse tested being the second mouse poisoned. There must be only a single mouse poisoned before the eighth is tested, but this first poisoning could occur with the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, or seventh mouse. Thus there are seven events that describe the scenario we are concerned with. With each event, we want two particular mice to become diseased (1/6 chance) and the remaining six mice to remain undiseased (5/6 chance). Thus, for each of the seven events, the probability of this event occurring among all events is (1/6)^2(5/6)^6. Since there are seven of these events which are mutually exclusive, we sum the probabilities: our desired probability is 7(1/6)^2(5/6)^6 = (7*5^6)/(6^8).
