Answer:

The remainder is 100.

Step-by-step explanation:

The divisor is x^2-8.

Dividend is x^4+36.

We have to find the remainder of

\frac{x^4+36}{x^2-8}

It can be written as

\frac{x^4+36}{x^2-8}=\frac{x^4-64+64+36}{x^2-8}

\frac{x^4+36}{x^2-8}=\frac{(x^4-64)+100}{x^2-8}

\frac{x^4+36}{x^2-8}=\frac{(x^4-64)}{x^2-8}+\frac{100}{x^2-8}

\frac{x^4+36}{x^2-8}=\frac{(x^2-8)(x^2+8)}{x^2-8}+\frac{100}{x^2-8}       [\because a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b)]

\frac{x^4+36}{x^2-8}=x^2+8+\frac{100}{x^2-8}

Therefore the remainder is 100.

The ratio of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 6:2:7. Find the measure of the largest angle.
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

6x + 2x + 7x = 180                  Every triangle has a measure of 180o

15x = 180                                 Divide by 15

x = 180/15

x = 12

The longest side will be 7x

7*12 = 84

  • f(0) =  \frac{3}{2}
  • f(4) =   \frac{7}{2}

I tried them all and these two were correct, their solutions are as follows:

= f(x) = 1/2x + 3/2

= f(0) = 1/2 × 0 + 3/2

= f(0) = 0 + 3/2

= f(0) = 3/2

= f(x) = 1/2x + 3/2

= f(4) = 1/2 × 4 + 3/2

= f(4) = 2 + 3/2

= f(4) = 4+3/2

= f(4) = 7/2

So, that's how these two are correct.

What is the effect on the graph of the function f(x) = x when f(x) is replaced with -1/2 f(x)?
inn [45]

Answer:

The correct option is B.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is

f(x)=x

The new function is

g(x)=-\frac{1}{2}f(x)

g(x)=-\frac{1}{2}x        .... (1)

It is in the form of

g(x)=mx                   .... (2)

Where, m is a constant.

If m is negative, then there is a vertical reflection over x-axis. If the constant is greater than 1, we get a vertical stretch and  if the constant is between 0 and 1, we get a vertical compression.

From (1) and (2), we get

m=-\frac{1}{2}

Since the value of m is negative and absolute value of m is between 0 and 1, therefore the graph g(x) shows the vertical reflection over x-axis and vertical compression.

Option B is correct.
