2. The underground railroad is a series of escape routs above ground so that slaves could gain freedom. A woman by the name of Harriet Tubman was the most famous conductor. She led as much as 300 slaves to freedom. She was also a fugitive slave. What she did took much courage. There was also Jonathon Walker, he saved many slaves by bringing them to the Bahamas. He was known for the "Slave Savior"

 

3. Fredrick Douglas was taught how to read and then he became a spokesperson and made a abolitionist news papers like "The North Start". Reverend Lovejoy Wanted to spread ideas about antislavery through his news paper "The Alton Observer". Later on he was killed in Illinois. William Lloyd Garrison spread ideas about ending slavery. He did this with his news paper "The Liberator". Something interesting is that he printed speeches and texts of other abolitionist.
