In different spanish-speaking countries there are slight differences in their education systems, but it's notorious the difference with the American education system. An example is the Costa Rican system, children enter at the age of 4 and a half years old at a level called "maternal", then at the age of 5 they enter kindergarten also called "kinder", then at the age of 6 they enter to "preparatoria" although those levels are needed they aren't required. At the age of 7 they enter primary school where they spend six years. After finishing primary school they enter high school where they spend 5 to 6 more years depending if it is a technical high school or academic high school.
