I think I know what you are asking.... If you have a repeating number such as 3.222222222... You write it as 3.2 with a line like - over the number repeating so in this case it would be 3.2 with a - over the 2. If you had a repeating number with multiple numbers that repeat like 4.262626... where the 26 is repeating you put the line over those two numbers so it would be 4.26 with a - over the 26. If you are trying to solve an equation with a repeating decimal you can use just 3.2 and get a close answer but if you want a more exact answer use the fraction 29/9 (simply put (29/9) into a calculator). Another thing to mention is you can write repeating decimals by rounding as well. 8.777777777... can be written as 8.8 but it is better to use the other ways I mentioned before. I hope I helped.
