Once again, I hate proofs so much.

One easy solution is to follow the common logic which is if two lines are both straight and equidistant from each other, SO THEIR PARALLEL, but since education these days asks us to write theses stupid "proofs" here's my attempt:

First off what must we prove to show that two lines are parallel??

Well, the<span> first way is </span>if<span> the corresponding angles, the angles </span>that<span> are on the same corner at each intersection, are equal. If those angles are the same, then the </span>lines are parallel<span>. The second is </span>if<span> the alternate interior angles, the angles </span>that<span> are on opposite sides of the transversal and inside the </span>parallel lines, are<span> equal, then the </span>lines are also parallel<span>.

Well angles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are equal and also 90 degrees, thus the corresponding angles and alternate interior angles are all equal, which means that these two lines are parallel. </span>

What is the equation of the circle with center (1, −1) that passes through the point (5, 7)?
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

Option C (x-1)^2+(y+1)^2=80

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the radius of the circle

we know that

The distance from the center of the circle to any point on the circumference of the circle is equal to the radius of the circle

we have

(1,-1) and (5,7)

the formula to calculate the distance between two points is equal to

d=\sqrt{(y2-y1)^{2}+(x2-x1)^{2}}

substitute the values

d=\sqrt{(7+1)^{2}+(5-1)^{2}}

d=\sqrt{(8)^{2}+(4)^{2}}

d=\sqrt{80}\ units

step 2

Find the equation of the circle in center radius form

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2

where

(h,k) is the center

r is the radius

substitute

(x-1)^2+(y+1)^2=(\sqrt{80})^2

(x-1)^2+(y+1)^2=80

Where is the transverse axis of the hyperbola x^2-4y^2=16

In this type of equations, having more than one variable (unknown), you have to specify for which variable you want the equation solved.

Solve the simultaneous equations
Elza [17]

Answer:

3

Step-by-step explanation:

2×-3y = 12 ( multiply whit 4)

3x + 4y =1 (multiply whit 3 )

8x -12y =48

9X+ 12y = 3

if you add this equations

17X =51

X= 51 / 17

x=3

Write a polynomial Of least degree With roots zero and -3
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

X^2+3x

Step-by-step explanation:

in order to get these roots, we would set up the equation to be (x)(x+3). We can then multiply it to get x^2+3x
