Answer:

Alteration of generations means that the plant produces both haploid and diploid multicellular organism.

Explanation:

Alteration of generation is known as metagenesis, which can be seen in some plants and algae that have distinct haploid sexual and diploid asexual stages.

The multicellular haploid gametophyte contain 'n' chromosome which alternates with diploid sporophytes that are diploid containing 2n chromosomes.

Two gametes of same species fuse with together and produces diploid zygote that develops into diploid sporophytes.

This relationship that occur between sporophytes and gametophytes  varies within different plant groups.

Which one of the following statements concerning soil erosion is not true?
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

(a)-Rills, and arroyos or gullies develop mainly during prolonged droughts.

Explanation:

Soil erosion is the process of erosion, transport and sedimentation of soil, subsoils and rocks as an effect of the action of erosive agents such as water, winds and living things. The process of disintegration of rock particles (called sediments) is caused by the action of weathering (a set of chemical, physical and biological processes that cause soil and rock wear).

About soil erosion, we can confirm that the following information is true:

  • Grasses and other vegetation, windbreaks, and contour cropping will help reduce soil loss from cultivated lands.
  • Soils form naturally by weathering; if protected from erosion, sound management can maintain or enhance their nutrient levels and textural characteristics.

Plant viruses spread throughout the plant by way of __________. View Available Hint(s)for Part A chloroplasts plasmodesmata vert
KatRina [158]

Answer:

Plasmodesmata

Explanation:

Plasmodesmata are microscopic channels which traverse the cell walls of plant cells and some algal cells, enabling transport and communication between them. This is the path that viruses use to spread throughout a plant's system.

Hope this helped! :^)

What is the transamination reaction? What is the cofactor required for the transamination reaction?
brilliants [131]

Answer:

Transamination reaction:

Transmaination reaction may be defined as a type of chemical reaction that involves the transfer of an amino group to the another keto acid fort the formation of new amino acid. The non essential amino acid can be easily converted to essential amino acid by this transmination reaction.

This reaction is important for the important mteabolic pathways of the body. The cofactor required for the transamination reaction is pyridoxal-5'-phosphate. This cofactor also works as a derivative of vitamin B6. This cofactor is converted to pyridoxamine-5'-phosphate during the reaction.
