Solution:

we are given that

James invests $10,000 in an account earning 6% interest, compounded annually.

Curtis invests $10,000 in an account earning 5% interest, compounded annually.

Given that no additional deposits are made, compare the balances of the two accounts after 10 years.

So here t=10 years.

As we know that

A=P(1+ \frac{r}{100} )^n

So In James account after 10 years we have

A=10000(1+ \frac{6}{100} )^{10}

A=10000(1+0.06 )^{10}

A=10000(1.06 )^{10}=17908.5 \approx 17909 $

So In Curtis  account after 10 years we have

A=10000(1+ \frac{5}{100} )^{10}

A=10000(1+0.05 )^{10}

A=10000(1.05 )^{10}=16288.9 \approx 16289 $

Hence james will have 17909-16289=1620$ more in his account after 10 years.

The perimeter of a rectangular garden is 290 feet. If the width of the garden is 62 feet, what is its length?
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

83

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember that the perimeter of a rectangle is two times the width plus two times the length. In other words:

2W + 2L = P

We know that the perimeter is 290 and the width is 62. We can plug these into the equation and solve for L.

2(62) + 2L = 290

124 + 2L = 290

Subtract 124 from both sides.

2L = 166

Divide both sides by 2.

L = 83

So now we know that the length is 83 feet.

I hope you find my answer and explanation to be helpful. Happy studying.

The time needed for all college students to complete a certain paper-and-pencil maze follows a normal distribution with a popula
oee [108]

Answer:

The correct option is a

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The population mean is  \mu = 30\ seconds

    The standard deviation is  \sigma = 3 \ seconds

     The sample size is  n  = 9

    The null hypothesis is H_o: \mu  = 30

     The alternative hypothesis is  H_a  :  \mu \ne 30

    The level of significance is  \alpha = 0.01

    The sample mean is  \= x = 31.2

Generally the test statistics is mathematically represented as

      z = \frac{ \= x - \mu }{ \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }

=>   z = \frac{ 31.2 - 30}{ \frac{3}{\sqrt{9} } }

=>   z = 1.2

From the z table  the area under the normal curve to the right corresponding to  1.2  is

         P(Z >  1.2) =  0.11507

Generally the p-value is mathematically represented as

         p-value = 2 * P(Z >  1.2)

=>       p-value = 2 *0.11507

=>       p-value = 0.230

From the value obtained w can see that

         p-value  > \alpha hence

The decision rule is

Fail to reject the null hypothesis

The conclusion is there is not enough evidence to support the claim

Step-by-step explanation:

The question in English is

Which of the following functions is a constant function?

we know that

A <u>constant function</u> is a function whose output value is the same for every input value

so

<u><em>Verify each case</em></u>

case A) y=x+1

This is not a constant function, this is a linear equation

Is a function whose output value is different for every input value

case B) y=x+2

This is not a constant function, this is a linear equation

Is a function whose output value is different for every input value

case C) x=y+3

This is not a constant function, this is a linear equation

Is a function whose output value is different for every input value

case D) y=3

This is a constant function

Is a function whose output value is the same for every input value
