Linaweaver Inc. has $2.80 per unit in variable costs and $5.50 per unit in fixed costs and a production volume of 100,000 units
Elanso [62]

Answer:

 =  $8.80

Explanation:

<em>Under the Mark-up pricing system, the price of a product is determined by adding a desired percentage of the the cost (called mark-up) to the full cost of the product.</em>

Selling price = <em>The full cost of the product  + mark -up</em>

<em>The full cost of a product = Variable cost + fixed cost</em>

Remember that fixed cost do not varying within activity range

Selling price = ($2.80 + $ 5.50) + 0.50   = $8.8

Sales price to be charged =$8.8

<em>Total sales value = $8.8× 42,000</em>

<em>                            =  $369,600.  (though this is not part of the requirement)</em>

Rihanna, Inc. sells watches for $100 per watch. The variable expenses are $20 per unit, and the fixed expenses total $80,000 per
muminat

Answer:

Net operating income = $240,000

Explanation:

At first we have to determine the break-even sales.

We know,

Break-even sales in units = Fixed expense ÷ (Sales price per unit - Variable cost per unit)

Break-even sales in units = $80,000 ÷ ($100 - 80)

Break-even sales in units = $80,000 ÷ $20 = 4,000 units.

Therefore, if the company sells 4,000, there will be no operating income.

If the total sales of Rihanna, Inc. is increased by $400,000, it means the company sells $400,000 ÷ $100 = 4,000 more units.

Therefore,

Sales                                                     = $400,000

Less: Variable expense (4,000*$40)  = $160,000

Contribution Margin                             = $240,000

The new net operating income will be $240,000 as the fixed expense remains same for the entire period.

Airida [17]

Answer:

Aug 1.

Basic analytics - Cash increases by $11,400 and so does owner's equity

Debit-credit analysis - Debit cash account by $11,400 and credit common stock by $11,400

Aug 4.

Basic analytics - Cash decreases by $1,400 while prepaid insurance increases by $1,400

Debit-credit analysis - Debit Prepaid insurance by $1,400 and Credit cash account by $1,400

Aug 27.

Basic analytics - Cash decreases by $570 while Salaries expense increases by $570

Debit-credit analysis - Debit Salaries expense by $570 and Credit cash account by $570

Explanation:

When a company sell shares for cash, cash increases and the corresponding effect is that owner's equity increases by the same amount. Increase in assets is a debit to the asset account while an increase in equity is a credit to the account.

When insurance is paid in advance, cash is given up for another asset called prepaid insurance. A credit to cash is an outflow and a debit to prepaid insurance is an increase.

when revenue is earned and cash is received, the revenue balance increases and so does the cash balance.

For salaries paid, it is an expense that results in cash reduction.

On December 1, 2021, the company received $9,000 in cash from another company that is renting office space in Falwell’s building
MrMuchimi

Answer:

From all indications, the two rents received have been posted wrongly, I want to believe that you are required to post the adjusting entries, hence my answer below:

The first $9000 was posted to deferred revenue, whereas only two months should have been

First rent:

DR Deferred revenue $3000

CR Revenue                 $3000

Second Rent

DR Revenue                  $6000

CR Deferred revenue    $6000

Explanation:

The first $9000 was posted to deferred revenue, whereas only two months should have been deferred and December rent recognized as rent.

As far as the second rent is concerned only one month has been earned,as a result the revenue should be credited with just $3000  for December.

This then mean that revenue from the second property has been overstated in December by $6000,this necessitated by adjustment above.
