As we could "drag" these together, we could then do it the easy way.

  56
+56
+56
-------
168
------------------------

Or we could also do the following:

56*3:

6*3= 18.

Carry the one.

5*3 = 15+1 (which was carried). = 16

(16+8) = 168

DanielleElmas [232]

Question:  The probability that s student owns a car is 0.65, and the probability that a student owns a computer is 0.82.

a. If the probability that a student owns both is 0.55, what is the probability that a randomly selected student owns a car or computer?

b. What is the probability that a randomly selected student does not own a car or computer?

Answer:

(a) 0.92

(b) 0.08

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

Applying

Pr(A or B) = Pr(A) + Pr(B) – Pr(A and B)................. Equation 1

Where A represent Car, B represent Computer.

From the question,

Pr(A) = 0.65, Pr(B) = 0.82, Pr(A and B) = 0.55

Substitute these values into equation 1

Pr(A or B) = 0.65+0.82-0.55

Pr(A or B) = 1.47-0.55

Pr(A or B) = 0.92.

Hence the probability that a student selected randomly owns a house or a car is 0.92

(b)

Applying

Pr(A or B) = 1 – Pr(not-A and not-B)

Pr(not-A and not-B) = 1-Pr(A or B) ..................... Equation 2

Given: Pr(A or B)  = 0.92

Substitute these value into equation 2

Pr(not-A and not-B) = 1-0.92

Pr(not-A and not-B) = 0.08

Hence the probability that a student selected randomly does not own a car or a computer is 0.08

We have 10 gallons of gas in the car. we use 1 5/8 gallons each hour. How many hours of gas do we have?
Andre45 [30]
So you have 10 gallons of gas
You use 1.625 or 1.63 an hour

You can either do 10/1.625 = 6 hours and 15 mins
You can either do 10/1.63 = 6 hours and 13 mins

--Multiplying Polynomials--Use the given formulas to express the volume of each object as a polynomial.
sasho [114]

32.

V = L*w*h

Where:

V= Volume

L= Length = x+5

w= width = x-2

h= height = 6

Replacing with the values given:

V= (x+5) * (x-2) * 6

V =[ (x*x) + (x*-2) + (5*X) +5*-2) ] * 6

V= [ x^2 - 2x + 5x - 10 ] * 6

V= [ x^2 + 3x - 10] *6

V= (x^2*6) + (3x*6)+ ( - 10 * 6)

V= 6x^2 + 18x - 60
