"I Stand Here Ironing" is a short story, it was written by Tillie Olsen. The story was published in her short story collection, Tell Me a Riddle in 1961. The story is told from a mothers first person point of view. The narrator is, a remarried mother with five children. She remembers the way she parented her first child, Emily. Her thoughts in the story, are about what she would have done differently while parenting Emily if she had been more experienced and had better options. It is one of Olsen's most anthologized works.

I got this from another person who asked this question.

What would a dependent clause need in order to stand on its own as a sentence.
irakobra [83]

A dependent clause would need to follow an independent clause in order to stand on its own as a sentence. Thus the correct answer is A.

What is a dependent clause?

A group of words known as a dependent clause does have a subject and a verb but does not fully express a thought. It would require a separate clause to come after it.

A set of words that represents a comprehensive concept and has a subject and verb is called an independent clause. Combining an independent clause with a dependent clause is refer as subordination.

Therefore, option A is appropriate.
