The 3/5ths Compromise resulted in the

A) Abolition of the slave trade.

B) Every 5 slaves counting as 3 people towards a states population.

Determining population for a state is critical because there are several different areas this affects. For example, the population of a state determines how many representatives they have in the House of Representatives. Along with this, the amount of population determines how much a state government will pay in direct taxes to the federal government.

This compromise, developed during creation/ratification of the US Constitution, ensured that the Southern states would have significant political representation in the House.
