Specific Performance is enforced by the court as a specialized remedy when no other remedy, like money, will compensate the other party in a civil case.  The court grants Specific Performance when the subject of the contract is unique, when the amount of damages is not clear, and when it is not really a matter of money.  Other commodities that can be supported by Specific Performance are goods in short supply, works of art, and custom-made products.
