Answer:

amount of taxable interest income that Karen report for 2018 = 0

Amortization per year = $100

Adjusted basis  = $ 10,900

Explanation:

given data

face value = $10,000

purchased the bond = $11,000

interest rate = 4%

solution

we know here that City of Richmond bonds that is tax exempted

so that amount of taxable interest income that Karen report for 2018 = 0

and

as Premium on the bond is

Premium on the bond = purchased the bond - face value

Premium on the bond  = 11,000 - 10,000 = 1,000

and here time Period = 10 years  ( January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2027 )

so Amortization per year is

Amortization per year = \frac{1000}{10}

Amortization per year = $100

so

Adjusted basis will be = Purchase price - Premium amortized

Adjusted basis = 11,000 - 100

Adjusted basis  = $ 10,900

Rogue Drafting has debt with a market value of $450,000, preferred stock with a market value of $150,000, and common stock wit
defon

Answer:

the  WACC is 8.65%.

Explanation:

Total firm capital = $450,000 + $150,000 + $350,000

                            = $950,000

Weight of debt in the capital structure = $450,000/ $950,000

                                                                = 47.37%

Weight of preferred stock in the capital structure

= $150,000/ $950,000

= 15.79%

Weight of common stock in the capital structure

= $350,000/ $950,000

= 36.84%

The weighted average cost of capital is calculated using the below formula:

WACC= Wd*Kd(1 - t) + Wps*Kps + We*Ke

where:

Wd = Percentage of debt in the capital structure.

Kd = The before tax cost of debt

Wps = Percentage of preferred stock in the capital structure

Kps = Cost of preferred stock

We = Percentage of common stock in the capital structure

Ke = The cost of common stock

T = Tax rate

WACC = 47.37%*8%*(1 – 0.30) + 0.1579*10% + 36.84%*12%

           = 2.65272% + 1.5790% + 4.4208%

           = 8.65252%

Therefore, the  WACC is 8.65%.

1, xyz company cost function for the next four month is cost =500000+5Q A, find the BE dollar volume of sale is the selling pric
Temka [501]

Answer:

<u>Break Even point </u>Q = 500000

<u>Shut Down Point </u> P < 5

Explanation:

<u>Break Even point</u> is where Total Revenue = Total Cost.

Total cost = 500000 + 5Q, price = 6 (Given) , Total revenue = Price x quantity

So, TR = TC implies : 500000 + 5Q = 6Q → 500000 = 6Q - 5Q

Q = 500000

<u>Shut Down Point </u>is where firm's Price is < its Average Variable Cost .

AVC is the variable cost on per unit output, is found out by average of variable component of cost function. C = 500000 + 5Q implies variable cost = 5Q , so AVC = 5Q / Q = 5

So, the firm would shut down if its price would go below AVC , ie if P < 5
