Answer: 21 hours

Step-by-step explanation: If you find out all the hours in between it would be 9 hours on Monday, 6 hours on Tuesday, 5 hours and 30 mins on Thursday, and that random 30 mins. If we add that all up we get 9 hours + 6 hours + 5 hours + 1 hours ( take the 30 mins from Thursday and that awkward 30 min lunch break ). Simplify it ALL out and we get 10 hours + 11 hours, which come out to a grand total of 21 hours. HOPE THIS HELPS :)

In an arithmetic sequence {an}, if a1 = 5 and d = 3, find a72. A) 216 B) 218 C) 221 D) 223
Phoenix [80]

The arithmetic sequence with the given condition is determined recursively by

\begin{cases}a_1=5\\a_n=a_{n-1}+3&\text{for }n>1\end{cases}

So we have

a_2=a_1+3

a_3=a_2+3=a_1+3(2)

a_4=a_3+3=a_1+3(3)

and so on with the general pattern

a_n=a_1+3(n-1)

This means the 72nd term in the sequence is

a_{72}=a_1+3(72-1)=5+3(71)=218

so the answer is B.

Simplify (9 + 7i)/(-10 + 8i)
Vera_Pavlovna [14]
Multiply numerator and denominator by the conjugate of the denominator

Denominator: -10 + 8i
Conjugate of the denominator: -10 - 8i

Operation:

[9 +7i] / [-10 + 8i] * [-10 -8i] / [-10 - 8i] = [-90 - 72i - 70i +56] / [100 + 64] =

[-34 -142i] / 164 = [-17 -71i] / 82
