The correct answer is C) victory over Spain in the Spanish-American War.

The event that contributed most to the United States being recognized as an international power was the victory over Spain in the Spanish-American War.

The Spanish-American War started in 1898 that originated with the demand for Cuba to gain independence from Spain. The UnitedStates supported Cuba and sent a ship -the USS Maine. to protect its citizens and property of the Island. The Spanish sank the ship and declared war on the US on April 24, 1898.

The United States won the war and signed the Treaty of Paris on December 10, 1898. Spain ceded Puerto Rico and Guam to the US, gave independence to Cuba and left the Philippines.

How did Russia perceive the Truman doctrine and marshall plan?
monitta

Answer:In early 1947, Britain, France, and the United States unsuccessfully attempted to reach an agreement with the Soviet Union for a plan envisioning an economically self-sufficient Germany.

In June 1947, in accordance with the Truman Doctrine, the United States enacted the Marshall Plan, a pledge of economic assistance for all European countries willing to participate, including the Soviet Union.

The years 1948 to 1952 saw the fastest period of growth in European history; industrial production increased by 35%, some of which has been attributed to the Marshall Plan aid.

The Soviet Union refused the aid because Stalin believed that economic integration with the West would allow Eastern Bloc countries to escape Soviet control.
