These are linear equations that can be solved simultaneously;
5m+3n=41
3m-6n=9   (multiplying the first equation by 3 and the second by 5)

15m+9n=123
15m-30n= 45 (subtracting the two equations)
         39n = 78
             n = 2,
and for m, 3m = 9+6(2)
                        = 21
                     m = 7
Therefore, n=2 and m=7

In what ways does adding a constant or coefficient to a quadratic equation affect the graph
lesya692 [45]
A constant can either shift the graph up or down. If coefficient is less than 1 it will make the graph wider, if it's more than 1 it will make graph more narrow

lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

The area of the rectangle is increasing at a rate of  22\ cm^2/s.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The width of a rectangle is increasing at a rate of 2 cm/ sec. While the length increases at 3 cm/sec.

To find : At what rate is the area increasing when w = 4 cm and I = 5 cm?

Solution :

The area of the rectangle with length 'l' and width 'w' is given by  A=l w

Derivative w.r.t  't',

\frac{dA}{dt}=w\frac{dl}{dt}+l\frac{dw}{dt}

Now, we have given

\frac{dl}{dt}=3\ cm/s

l=5\ cm

\frac{dw}{dt}=2\ cm/s

w=4\ cm

Substitute all the values,

\frac{dA}{dt}=(4)(3)+(5)(2)

\frac{dA}{dt}=12+10

\frac{dA}{dt}=22\ cm^2/s

Therefore, the area of the rectangle is increasing at a rate of  22\ cm^2/s.

ASAP PLEASE GIVE CORRECT ANSWER
Step2247 [10]

distance of a point (x,y) from origin is $\sqrt{x^2+y^2}$

so distance is $\sqrt{(-15)^2+(8)^2}=\sqrt{225+64}=\sqrt{289}=17$
