The right answer is Marshall Nirenberg and Heinrich Matthaei.

In the so-called "triplet binding test" by Nirenberg and Matthaei short messenger RNA (mRNA) pieces with known base sequences were synthesized. These mixed the two researchers with ribosomes that had been isolated from bacteria. Investigations initially showed that ribosomes and mRNA attached to each other. Then Nirenberg and Matthaei fulfilled all the conditions necessary for protein biosynthesis and put the necessary ingredients in a test tube: purified ribosomes, a mixture of all 20 amino acids (from experiment to experiment, another amino acid was radioactively labeled) and finally a synthetic mRNA, with a known base sequence. After all of the components were assembled and allowed to react, the mixture was loaded on a filter that retained ribosomes, mRNA, and newly synthesized protein, but allowed free amino acids to pass through (filtrate). Then it was examined whether radioactive material was in the filtrate or was just retained.

Negative feedback
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

b. Works within an upper and lower range

c. " Is regulatory. "

d. Is very common in biological systems

Explanation:

Negative feedback is the regulatory mechanism that maintains homeostasis by counteracting the deviation. Any change serves as a stimulus and a response is produced to reverse the change. Negative feedback is a very common regulatory mechanism to maintain internal body conditions within a narrow range.

For example, the body temperature in adults is maintained within the narrow range of around 36 -37 degrees Celsius. An increase or decrease in the body temperature from the set point is counteracted to restore the set point. An increase in body temperature is reversed by the vasodilation of blood capillaries of skin layers to lose the heat to the surroundings. On the other hand, reduced body temperature below the set point is restored by constriction of capillaries of skin layers.
