Edgar Allan Poe has a unique aesthetic style, he uses morbid themes like nightmares, death, crime, and evil. He adopts a Gothic technique in a composition. In “The Fall of the House of Usher” Allan Poe used psychological shocks to tell the story about a house that has absorbed an evil and diseased atmosphere.

Kate Chopin is a writer that is known for her stories of sensitive women. She has an emancipating style of writing - some call it feminism -. She uses a lot of symbolism, strong characters, and morals. “A Pair of Silk Stockings” story is another example of the use of symbolism by the author, the silk stockings represent luxury.

Comparing both passages you can notice that Allan Poe describes all the details from nature and from the House of Usher to create this gothic mysterious atmosphere. On the other way around,  on the passage from “A Pair of Silk Stockings,” you can notice clearly the symbolism of everything in the story like “the music ceased the crowd filed out, like a dream”.

Is the underlined clause independent or subordinate?
dybincka [34]
Unless he has been left alone - This is a subordinate clause as it needs an independent one to fulfill its meaning and make it correct.

Rover rarely barks or whines - This is an independent clause because it can stand on its own and convey meaning without help from other clauses.

Helppppp pleaseeeee??

So I don't believe that it is common, though I do believe that many can be commonly misinformed.  It's not the event that is to be mistaken, instead it is more common to find a misdated event.  Does that make sense?  So the title or name of the event is not mistaken for another, but instead I believe the date or the event itself can be misinterpreted.  Since, in order to know exactly what happened, you need to be there, and at the same time, there are many different perspectives.  If you need further explanation, just let me know.
