The Commercial Revolution was a period which started in the 16th century due to the discovery of the American Continent. As locations which many resources were identified and colonized, many trade routes were created between the Americas and Europe. This transformed Europe, as it brought much wealth to the continent.

As numerous regions were beginning to accumulate wealth, economic autonomy was beginning to become more evident. This caused a series of conflicts among the fragmented states of the Holy Roman Empire which were known as The Thirty Years War (1618-1648) Significant effects of the war were not only caused by military activity but also from famine and plagues.
