Okay, so first lets think about the angle next to the 42 degree angle.
we know that those two angles must add to 180 degrees, so lets form an equation to figure out the other angle
42 + x = 180
subtract 42 from both sides
x = 138
so 138 degrees is the first AND the 3rd angle
the opposite angle from the 42 degree angle also happens to be 42 degrees

this is because there are two lines in total right?? if you draw out the 42 degree angle and the 138 degree angle, flip that upside down, the angles are the same!!

i hope this helps!!

16 - 2r = -3r + 6r +1
Alona [7]

Answer:

r=3

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplify the expression

16-2r=3r+1

isolate r by adding 2r to both sides

16=5r+1

isolate the numbers by subtracting 1 from both sides

15=5r

divide both sides by 5 to completely isolate r

r=3

The table shows a proportional relationship between the milliliters (ml) of red paint and milliliters of yellow
Alinara [238K]

Answer:

You didn't provide answer options. The correct answer option will be the one where the ratio of red paint to yellow paint is 3:8.

Step-by-step explanation:

To make orange, you need some amount of red and some amount of yellow. As long as you mix them in the same proportions, you will get the same orange colour, regardless of how much total paint you're using. It's the RATIO between colours that matter, not how much colour is used.

In this case we are told that to make orange you can use any of the following combinations:

10.5mL red / 28mL yellow

9mL red / 24mL yellow

7.5mL red / 20mL yellow

Just take any of these and convert into a fraction. The middle option is easiest because it uses whole numbers:

\frac{9}{24} = \frac{3}{8}

This means for every 3 units of red, you need 8 units of yellow. Whichever answer option has red and yellow in that ratio is the correct answer.
