What benefits did Europe gain as a result of the colonization of Africa?
RoseWind [281]

Answer:

The European colonizer looked for more raw materials that were needed to manufacture goods in Europe. While they also needed a new marketplace and Africa helped with that too, that was not the primary benefit that the colonizers got. Africa had a lot of raw materials that were untouched and Europeans used that to their advantage.

What strategy did Count Cavour utilize during the struggle for Italian unification?
FinnZ [79.3K]
The best answer in that set would seem to be "compromise."  I'm not sure I'd use exactly that term, but it's the best term from the set of answers given.  Count Camillo di Cavour was prime minister of the Kingdom of Sardinia, serving under King Victor Emmanuel II.  This was a time in history (in the 19th century) when prime ministers were starting to exercise more control of policy than the kings themselves.  It was also a time of something that came to be known a "Realpolitik" (a German term), or "realistic politics."  So I'd say Cavour was a political realist who chose paths of action that would benefit his overall aims, whether or not they fit some specific ideology or master plan.  I suppose "compromise" would be another way of saying that, but I'd prefer to say he practiced political realism.

1. What did Germans say about all non-Aryan people?
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

The word Aryan has a long history. Initially, it was used to refer to groups of people who spoke a variety of related languages, including most of the European ones and several Asian ones. Over time, however, the word took on new and different meanings. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, some scholars and others transformed the Aryans into a mythical “race” that they claimed was superior to other races. In Germany, the Nazis promoted this false notion that glorified the German people as members of the "Aryan race," while denigrating Jews, Black people, and Roma View This Term in the Glossary and Sinti (Gypsies) as “non-Aryans.”
