In the poem "The R*pe of the Lock," the author Alexander Pope, makes reference to magical creatures who add humor to the course of events. For instance, Belinda's dream is created by a sylph her called Ariel who looks after. At the same time, Ariel presents other sylphs and gnomes who also assist and look after Belinda, although Belinda cannot see them. In the end, when the Baron steals Belinda's hair, a resentful gnome travels to the underworld to pick up tears, sobs and annoyance, and then empties it on Belinda's head, which makes her furious.

I had an unusual day today. A box showed up on my doorstep and everything changed. At first, I was enjoying a good bowl of cereal and then my doorbell rang. I opened the door and there was the mailman, standing with a nervous looking face. That was unlike him, so I asked him what was wrong. He said "This box gives me a weird feeling.." but I thought maybe he was playing a prank on me or trying to scare me. I said "C'mon! It's just a box. Nothing is gonna happen!" He handed me the box and said "Well, see for yourself..." I gave him a strange look after I said goodbye and he ran off to the left of my house. I opened up the box and there was a book with a strange symbol on it. I opened the book and saw an unusual language written in it. I threw the book in a drawer and decided not to waste time on it. But after that I felt... strange. I was more anxious and my heart was beating faster. I went back to the book and decided to try and decipher it, but I couldn't. Apparently, the writing was in some ancient language. So I ditched it again and decided to take a nap.
