Which of these BEST describes why Georgia was important to United States during World War I?
astraxan [27]

At the beginning of World War I the United Statesdid not want to participate in the war. US President at the time Woodrow Wilson was very strong on the believe that the United States should keep its neutrality. Eventually, the United States was not able to maintain that neutrality and in April 6th, 1917, there was an official declaration of war on Germany thus affirming the United States entrance into World War I.

At the beginning of the war and for almost two years, just about all newspapers in Georgia had articles describing the negative consequences of the war for the State´s economic situation. Suddenly, there was a complete turn around on the position of the newspapers, and almost immediately they were in favor of the war effort, and all the articles became very patriotic and anti German.

Georgia was very important for the war effort between 1917 and 1918 because the State had many training camps, which were federal installations and they facilitated the formation of qualified men to the war. D will be the correct answer. The State contributed with more than 100 thousand men and women on behalf of the United States.

What was the compromise between the United States and the Soviet Union over placing nuclear weapons in Cuba?
trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

Option B, The Soviets agreed to end the expansion of Communism if the United States removed nuclear weapons from Turkey, is the right answer.

Explanation:

The most dangerous Cold War confrontation began between the United States and the Soviet Union with the Soviet provision of ballistic missiles to Cube. This confrontation brought the whole world to the verge of a nuclear war.

However, during the course of time, the two leaders John F. Kennedy, the then President of the United States and Nikita Khrushchev, Soviet Premier, negotiated a peaceful to this crisis.

The Soviet Union compared their provision of nuclear weapons in Cuba to the U.S. stationing of the Jupiter missiles in Turkey. The missiles were placed in a way that they came in the range of Soviet territory. Therefore,  Soviet agreed to end the expansion of Communism if the United States removed missiles from Turkey and also pledged not to invade Cuba in future.

Why were some women against voting rights for women?
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

Anti-suffragists everywhere were concerned with societal disruptions. "What women anti-suffragists produced to appeal to 'ordinary' women more broadly," McConnaughy adds, "was a logic of suffrage as a threat to femininity ... to the protection of the value of domestic life — most notably to the vocation of motherhood, and to a loss of the privileges of womanhood." Pretty much some women thought it was just against the order of how things were, that it wasn't normal.
