If we only compare the titles of these pieces of writing, we can see that both, "Cruel Tribute" and "The Maze Runner" contain a mythological element. In the first case we have the word "tribute", and we know that tributes were commonly found in mythology, mainly in Greek mythology. In the second case we have the word "maze", this element is also mythological because it is found in ancient myths for example the myth about Minotaur that was about a monster who lived in a maze.
