An essay in which each sentence and paragraph flows logically from one to the next.

Explanation:

An essay that uses straightforward vocabulary and sentence structure (option B) may still be lacking clearness of ideas.

An essay in which the writer's personality is clearly distinguishable (option C) is not the best example of clarity as it relates to essay writing. The thing is that the distinguishability of the writer's personality has nothing to do with clarity of his or her writing.

An essay in which every paragraph and sentence supports a single thesis (option D) is not a correct option either because 'single' does not mean 'the same', so they may be supporting different theses.

That leaves us only one choice - A.

Which word has the most negative connotation?
andreev551 [17]

The correct answer is A. stubborn.

Words can have a denotation and a connotation. Denotation is the literal meaning of the word - what you would find in a dictionary if you looked the word up. On the other hand, connotation has to do with personal feelings and emotions one get when he or she thinks about a particular word.

Words such as grateful, proud, and honored tend to have positive connotations - people usually see them in a positive light. On the other hand, when someone is stubborn, that is usually a negative thing.
