In World War II, the most important Allied powers were Great Britain, France, the Soviet Union, the United States and China. The creation of the Allies was in response to the aggression and war the Axis had unleashed.
France was part of the Allies except for the years it was occuppated by Germany (1940-1944). The Soviet Union entered the alliance in June 1941. Lastly, the US entered in December 1941.
