Based on the story, I would say the best word to describe Nadia at the end of the story would be, "accomplished". After seeing her mother in the front row, which reminded her of home and Lucky, she was able to put her fears aside and complete her performance.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

This question is incomplete. Here is the complete question:

Which word best describes Nadia at the end of the story? A) scared B) puzzled C) guarded D) confident

Answer:

The correct answer is option D)Confident.

Explanation:

In this excerpt we can see how Nadia feels panicked about playing the piano in front of the audience. She proves to be insecure before she starts, as if she was afraid.

But then she starts thinking about good things, things that calm her down.

So she starts thinking about her home, and Lucky. Things that make her feel calm and forget that she is about to play in front of a large audience.

At this moment, Nadia acquires confidence in herself. And then she manages to play in a way that at the end everyone ends up cheering.

Given this information, we can say that the correct answer is option D.

Describe the atmosphere at Red Sammy's. What is the significance of the conversation
Alja [10]

The atmosphere at Red Sammy's He and the grandmother discussed better times.

The elderly woman said that in her view, Europe is solely to blame for the current state of affairs.

She claimed that based on how Europe was acting, people would assume we were made of gold and red. Sam was absolutely correct when she said there was no point in talking about it.

The reader gets a creepy, foreboding sense of what the future of their own family will be because to the run-down surroundings at Crimson Sammy's.

Purple Sammy's is first described as being a tower and that is all that is said about it. Towers appear to be enormous and intimidating, and the interior is described as "a long, dark room."
