Marie  will NOT complete the chapter in time

Step-by-step explanation:

If Marie writes at a constant speed of 4 pages per hour, to write a 45-page chapter she will take;

45/4 = 11.25

= 11 ¼ hours

11 ¼ hours > 8 hours

Therefore Marie  will NOT complete the chapter in time

One number is 6 times another. The sum of their reciprocal id 14/3. Find the numbers.
nydimaria [60]
Let
x-------> one number
y--------> another number

we know that
x=6y--------> equation 1
(1/x)+(1/y)=14/3-----> (x+y)/xy=14/3-----> 3*(x+y)=14xy-----> equation 2

<span>I substitute 1 in 2
</span>3*(6y+y)=14(6y)y------> 21y=84y²-----> y=0.25
x=6y-----> x=6*0.25-----> x=1.5

the answer is
the numbers are 1.5 and 0.25

Am I correct if not help plzzz

Hey there!

You got the first part right where you added r to both sides. However, you need to make sure that you complete all actions on both sides, including canceling out parts of terms by division. The only thing you need to do is divide both sides by h instead of just the left. This will make your answer:

y =  \frac{b+r}{h}

Hope this helped you out! :-)

Pls help me with this math problem
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

The four rational numbers between -\frac{1}{2} and \frac{1}{2} can be:

  • -\frac{1}{3}
  • -\frac{1}{4}
  • \frac{1}{5}
  • \frac{1}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

The definition of rational numbers is usually a number of the type a/b where b is different from zero, therefore, to choose the numbers that are between -1/2 (= -0.5) and 1/2 (= 0.5) <u><em>it is enough with choose fractional numbers whose dividend is 1 and its divisor is any number greater than 2, either negative or positive,</em></u> in the answer we choose options such as 1/7 or -1/3, but following the guide I give you, you could choose numbers like 1/16, -1/9 or 1/40 if you wish, always respecting the guidelines given for the dividend and the divisor.
