C) The bookshelves swayed with the weight of their load.

A dangling modifier is a description that seems to be connected to the wrong noun grammatically. Sometimes they are hard to spot since our brains make the connection for us, but if you read the sentence exactly as it is, you will notice it. Option A is wrong because the modifier is "feeling anxious", but we don't know who or what is feeling anxious. Our brains know that it is the person who is having to hold still, but there is no person in the sentence. Option B is not correct because the modifier "screaming" is close to the noun "raft" in the sentence. We know that a raft cannot scream therefore the modifier is not in the right place. Option D's modifier is "missing my family". In the sentence the modifier seems to be modifying dormitory, but this doesn't make sense since a dormitory doesn't have a family or the capability to miss one.

Which of these should you do to show the place in a text where something
wlad13 [49]

A. Mark the text with an asterisk.

Explanation:

You can put an asterisk right at the point in the page where you feel the important information is while the other options are less efficient in that they do not help in retention of information or keeping a track of what was important.

You can mark a page as important but only if you believe the whole page is important not just a line, an asterisk can give specificity to the text which it would need in time of revision.

How are claims and support related?
gulaghasi [49]
Claims and support are related because claims are statements that are made by authors in relation to some subject matter that are backed up by "support" or evidence. Therefore, based upon these options, "An author will use support to back up a claim." This claim and support are what authors use to create arguments in writing to make a point and to express a perspective on a particular issue.
