Became a communist country - Under the leadership of Mao, China became a communist country with all of the traits that the already existing communist countries had, including total domination of just one political party. 2. The economy saw big rise - China's economy started to significantly rise after the miserable situation in which the country was before this period. It took lots of time, but eventually it started to become an important regional factor. 3. The country started to modernize - Even though it was a communist country China gave its best to keep track with the new inventions and trends and even though in a limited manner, the country started to slowly modernize. 4. The big cities developed significantly - The big cities became even bigger, became economic centers and developed significantly with very fast pace.
