In a parliamentary democracy, an elected leader is called the Prime Minister.

Further Explanation:

The basic feature of parliamentary democracy is a majority rule, which means the political party that receives the maximum votes shall be entrusted with the responsibility of government formation. The leader of the majority shall be called upon to be the Prime Minister, and he or she would lead their Council of Ministers. Usually, the Prime Minister is the most powerful entity of the parliamentary democracy, as he or she can form the Council of Ministers by choosing amongst the members of the ruling party. In case of a coalition, or where a single party has been unable to achieve a clear majority, the leaders of various parties must elect one amongst themselves, who shall be designated as the Prime Minister.

In a parliamentary democracy, the Prime Minister is said to be the reflection of the mandate of the people. The Prime Minister is assisted by his cabinet, which consists of a small group of ministers, that are entrusted with the most important portfolios. In most nations, the Prime Minister has the final say over these appointments, and he or she usually appoints the senior members of the majority of the coalition party, especially the loyalists, who have shown their ardent support throughout the election campaigns and process. Some other nations have a requirement of cabinet ministers having a formal education, regarding the portfolio that they shall be having responsibility for. The Prime Minister stays in power as long as he has the mandate of the people, which is expressed by the members of the Parliament. A vote of no- confidence in the Prime Minister means that he no longer has the confidence of the citizens that have voted him to power, and must collectively resign along with his cabinet.

The First Emperor

Qin Shihuang (259-210 B.C.E.) conquered much in this life, but his driving purpose was even greater; he sought to conquer death. In order to achieve immortality, he built himself a tomb—a vast underground city guarded by a life-size terracotta army including warriors, infantrymen, horses, chariots and all their attendant armor and weaponry.

The underground terracotta army found in the First Emperor’s burial complex is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable and mysterious discoveries from the ancient world. A sprawling citadel has been unearthed, complete with gardens and stables, bronze ritual vessels, jade jewelry, and a wealth of gold and silver ornaments.

Besides revealing much about an ancient way of life, observing the physical construction of the underground complex and the methodical production of the figures reveals a set of themes from which we gain a window of insight to the First Emperor’s worldview and enduring influence.

Why was napoleon unable to successfully established a french empire in europe?
andrew-mc [135]
After his naval defeat at the Battle of Trafalgar against the British, in which he lost his entire naval fleet, he decided to attempt to invade Russia. After this attempt to invade, he was defeated once more. After this, Napoleon was placed in home out of France so he could not rule over it. Napoleon escaped this home, and returned to Paris to continue his reign. Napoleon then tried to take control of more land in Europe where he was again defeated at the Battle of Waterloo where UK, Prussia, and the Netherlands all teamed up against the French. Napoleon was then taken to Saint Helena, an island off of the coast of Africa, where he later died.

Organized Indian resistance to American control ended in 1890 after the battle at __________. Wounded Knee Creek Little Bighorn
ahrayia [7]
Organized Indian resistance to American control ended in 1890 after the battle at Wounded Knee in South Dakota. However, it is worth noting that many today do not regard that as a battle, but rather as the Massacre at Wounded Knee due to the gap in preparedness between Sioux and US forces and the high death toll of Sioux women and children. Prior to the events at Wounded Knee, US troops had assembled Hotchkiss guns pointed at the camped out Sioux and many US troops drank heavily the night before. After a spat of confusion where US troops sought to take all Sioux weapons, a shot was fired and US troops opened fire upon all inhabitants of the camp killing almost upwards of 200 men, women, and children.
