n the excerpt, Hamlet calls Polonius Jephthah, after the priest in the Old Testament who sacrifices his daughter to God. What do

es this allusion suggest about Polonius’s treatment of Ophelia? Polonius is sacrificing his daughter to trick Hamlet. Polonius is a better father than Hamlet’s father was. Polonius is very protective of his innocent daughter. Polonius is very loyal to the royal family of Denmark.

The first choice is the right answer, that Polonius is sacrificing his daughter to trick Hamlet. This is when Polonius is convinced that Hamlet is lovesick over Ophelia, and when Hamlet calls him Jephthah, he fixates on the mention of his daughter, and neglects the context of Jephthah having sacrificed his daughter.

Zolol [24]

I believe the correct answer is: Eteocles was loyal to Thebes.

In Sophocles’ drama “Antigone”, Creon puts the law above everyone, even above his family. Creon is the uncle of Antigone, Ismene and Eteocles and Polyneices. Polyneices claimed the crown and led a rebellion, which is why he was declined the right to be buried. On the other side, Eteocles was loyal Thebes and was granted the right to be buried.

What are four ways that you can use context clues to determine the meaning of an unfamiliar or unknown word? Answer must be at l
Alborosie
When I am trying to figure out a word I don't know in a text I reread the sentence that contains that word. I will read the first part before the word I don't know and see if it makes sense or if there could be a different word there that has the same meaning. Next if I still don't know what the word is I would read the last part of the sentence after the word I don't know, and try to comprehend if know what the sentence meaning is. If I still do not understand the meaning of the word I would reread the surrounding sentences of the word to see what they are talking about or if they have anything to do with the word I am trying to comprehend. I ususaly understand what the word means after doing these steps in using the text around the word I do not know.
