Based on this text, using the N word implies deep hatred towards African Americans, but Scout doesn’t know that, he/she only knows the connotation of the word and how it was used to describe Atticus and how Francis used it as an insult. It shows that the N word can be shown to imply hatred towards African Americans, that it can be used as a deep insult without someone even knowing what it exactly means.

I hope this helps!

Within Daisy Miller: A Study, Daisy is not actually the first member of the Miller Family that Winterbourne meets: he encounters
Leno4ka [110]
Randolph is a rowdy (and even annoying) little kid. He is symbolic of loud Americans in general.

Randolph lets Daisy know that Winterbourne isn't uptight, like other Europeans. Therefore she is likely to like him, since he is more relaxed.

Later, he influences the action because Mrs. Miller cannot go out with Daisy and Winterbourne because she is struggling to get Randolph into bed. For this reason, Daisy and Winterbourne go out unchaperoned, definitely something scandalous by European standards.
