x^{3}+2x^{2} -5x-6

Horner:

2  1     2    -5   -6

   1     4     3     0

x^{3}+2x^{2} -5x-6=(x-2)(x^{2} +4x+3)

g(x)=x^{2} +4x+3

g(-1)=0

Horner

-1   1    4    3

    1    3     0

x^{2} +4x+3=(x+1)(x+3)

f(x)=x^{3}+2x^{2} -5x-6=(x-2)(x+1)(x+3)

Answer:

Since 2 or x-2= 0 is a zero of the function we divide it by the function to get the other factors

x³ + 2x² - 5x - 6 ÷ x -2

We get

(x + 3)(x+1) = 0

Therefore x³ + 2x² - 5x - 6 in factored form is

(x - 2)(x + 3)(x + 1)

Hope this helps.

a A hole in the shape of a hemisphere is carved into each face of a cube. The holes are identical and centered at the centre of
morpeh [17]

Diameter of each hemispheral holes = the diameter of a full sphere = side length of cube = 2 units.

<h3>What is a Hemisphere?</h3>

A hemishpere is half of a sphere. Thus, two hemispheres makes one full sphere.

Given the image as shown below, since the identical hemispheral holes are centered at the center of each fce and they touch each other at only one point, it means that two hemisphere meet to make one full sphere.

Therefore, the diameter of a full sphere = side length of cube.

Thus, diameter of each hemispheral holes = the diameter of a full sphere = side length of cube = 2 units.

Find the value of x?
jekas [21]
Hello!
The left triangle have two same side length so the two bottom angles are the same which is (180-56)/2=62
See the left triangle bottom right angle and the right triangle bigger angle have the sum of 180 degree so the bigger angle=180-62=118
The right triangle also have two same sides so they also have same angle degree so x=(180-118)/2=31
Have a great day!
