Oliga [24]

Answer:

A. The proposed measures would be unconstitutional. The goal of the electoral colleges was to avoid a dictatorship. However, in modern America, such concept is completely out of date. To that extent, changing the way the electoral college operates would need a change in the constitution itself.

B. The government might modify the constitution, or a section of the constitution dealing with the electoral college, to better reflect current American requirements. Our founding fathers actually proposed that the constitution be changed on a regular basis in order to accommodate these new-age principles.

C. A possible candidate would appeal to the masses and would be more population leaning than state leaning; states and cities with larger populations would receive more attention than more rural places; and more democratic and liberal leaning politicians would have a huge advantage because large cities and populations are their core demographic.

4. Why did Mayor William Alvord veto the Pigtail Ordinance?
lakkis [162]

Answer:

The Pigtail Ordinance was an 1873 law intended to force prisoners in San Francisco, California to have their hair cut within an inch of the scalp. While the law did not discriminate between races, it affected Han Chinese prisoners in particular, as it meant they would have their queue, a waist-long, braided pigtail, cut off. The proposal passed by a narrow margin through the Board of Supervisors in 1873 but was not enacted until 1876.

polet [3.4K]
I think it's the second one but it was actually called American Cookery, by an American Orphan. That was the first one in America at least.

I believe the answer is: b. Ennis alerted his superiors to the existence of secret evidence but, when they ignored it, Ennis did not make the evidence public. He remained silent.
Withholding information usually is not the actions that taken by the honest individuals. Ennis actions indicate that He could receive something from the superiors that make him feel justified to stay silent rather than showing all the evidence to the public.
