Answer:

A. to end discrimination in public facilities and employment

Explanation:

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a landmark legislation in the United States that prohibits unequal application of voter registration requirements and racial segregation in schools, blood banks, in the workplace and facilities that serve the public in general ("public places").

Once the Law was put into practice, its effects were far-reaching and had a huge long-term impact throughout the country. Discrimination was prohibited in public schools, in government, and in employment, invalidating the laws of Jim Crow in the southern United States. It became illegal to force the segregation of races in schools, housing, or hiring employees.

The powers that were granted to enforce it as law were initially weak, but were supplemented for years later. The congress exercised its authority to legislate in various parts of the United States Constitution, principally its power to regulate interstate commerce under Article One (Article 8), its obligation to guarantee citizens the equal protection of laws under the Constitution. Fourteenth Amendment and its duty to protect voting rights in the Fifteenth Amendment.

A) briefly explain why ONE of the following best supports the view that Lincoln was one of the most democratic and also one of t
Pani-rosa [81]
1. I choose the Emancipation proclamation.
The basis for a democratic country is the guarantee of human rights for all of its citizens and allowing all citizens the right to participate in the government.
Freeing other humans from slavery indicates his will to truly bring equality for all people int he nations, because he knew that slavery robbed the very essence of human rights from the people together with their dignity.

2. I compared it with Habeas Corpus
Habeas Corpus allow prisoners to report unlawful treatment when they're in their sentence. Indeed this represent Lincoln' willingness to preserve human rights, but the impact is nowhere near the Emancipation of Slavery that affect millions of human beings.

3. I belive Barrack Obama would be a good example.
Despite his blunder in adressing several economic issues in united states, General population believe that Obama always tried his best in perserving human rights and democracy. (could be seen by programs such as HAPA that give the right for children that born in united states by non-citizzens the right to be a legal citizen)

Germany hoped to achieve a quick victory in the First World War by invading which country first?
Levart [38]

The best answer is  C

The plan to attack France first was a plan by the German Chief of General Staff, Alfred Von Schlieffen which he came up with way back  in 1905.

He decided that France was the enemy to be defeated first, with Russia held off until the French were annihilated. He  worked out a detailed time timetable that took into account possible French responses to German actions. He believed that Germany would defeat France within six weeks, then after that  he would turn his full force on Russia.

Schlieffen plan was heavily modified by his successor Moltke, thus during the outbreak of WWI in 1914, it was not implemented  as Schlieffen had envisioned.
