I would say that Kelly's reaction illustrates the concept of <em>preconception</em>.

Explanation:

That is something we all do, although we try not to because we know that is not good to do it, but we can't really help it and try to do it as little as possible. Kelly thinks that her professor doesn't give her the chance to speak because he is unfriendly, but the real reason is that he didn't see her raising her hand because he has limited vision. After knowing this, Kelly still thinks that he is a little unfriendly, because it is not easy to change the preconceptions we have about others, and she seems to be a little stubborn; she continues to think what she thought in the first place when she now knows the reason for what the professor acted like he did.
